Job Description:
The successful candidate will support networking functionality of the FBI’s Science and Technology Branch, Special Technologies Applications and Office (STAO) telecommunication and information systems. The candidate will be required to identify and utilize applicable tools, when available, to analyze information from computer systems; computer systems log files, and networks. When tools are not available, the candidate will be required to be part of a development team to design and implement tools to meet the requirements. The candidate will develop front-end and back-end programs, techniques and processes for the bulk analysis of computer information utilizing large-scale database systems. Software development will include design support, understanding of criminal case/intelligence case investigation requirements and programming skills.

Skills:
The successful candidate is required to have the following skills:

  • A full understanding and efficiency in the use of cabling with either Cat 5 or fiber cables to networking environments
  • Perform trouble-shooting of networking failures and performing engineering and installation services to restore outages
