Job Description:
The successful candidate will perform day-to-day systems administration, management, reporting, implementation, maintenance, research & development, and operational technology assessments for the Test Facility and ensure the facility's ability to support multiple simultaneous testing environments capable of emulating the IT environment. This includes familiarization with various types of testing and the associated tools required to accomplish these tests. He/she will participate in and support the security acceptance process, this process ensures that systems meet the NRC security guidelines before being deployed in the POE (Production Operating Environment). Also, the candidate will serve as project manager for projects assigned to the D&I staff by the NRC that relate to activities in the CTF. Ensure that these projects are delivered on time and meet quality expectations. Specific project-management responsibilities include: Conduct requirements analyses and prepare project plans, maintain accurate project schedules throughout the life of the project and keep project stakeholders informed of any schedule changes, oversee the preparation of project deliverables following the QC guidelines specified in the NRC WBS template, participate in project close-out reviews to facilitate continuous improvement of the WBS approach as well as other project-management practices, coordinate with Operations managers to facilitate the participation of Operations team members in project development activities throughout the life of the project, involving Operations staff throughout the projects lifecycle, eventually transitioning the project to the Operations staff.

Skills:
The successful candidate is required to have the following skills:

  • Must have B.S. in IT, Computer Science or a related field
  • Must have 10+ years of professional experience, with 5+ years in a technical capacity
  • Experience supporting projects or technical team in an IT environment (examples include: Help Desk, Network Operations, Infrastructure Management, Systems Support, etc)
  • Experience using Microsoft Visio and other network documentation tools
  • Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, ARS, DNS
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools and SharePoint
  • Familiar with virtual technolgies (VMware, Hyper V, Citrix-Xenserver/XenApps)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with diverse teams
  • Proven ability to communicate with business clients and Information Technology professionals at all levels, as well as effective interpersonal skills
  • Network engineering concepts and all layers of the OSI and TCP/IP model
  • Provide support in the application of network security devices
  • Install and maintain the application of network devices such as routers, switches
